February BirchBox | First Impressions

Hello lovelies,

How are you? Today I am writing about the February Birchbox, whats inside and my first impressions of the products. Read on to find out more!

As february is the month of love, being valentines the box has this sort of theme, in this months box a few post cards were added in with different wording on the design as you can see.

Anatomicals Body Cleanser

The first thing that caught my attention in this months box was this cleanser. It is a full size product as it is 100ml. This cleanser is called “no one gets flirty with the dirty pick me up body cleanser” sticking with the theme of valentines day. I have heard of this brand before but until now haven’t tried any of their products out. I really like the scent of the cleanser, at first I wasn’t sure but the more I’ve used it the more I’ve grown to like the smell I would say it’s a unisex scent as it’s not either too feminine or masculine it sort of meets in the middle. It lathers up really well and a little goes a long way. As the RRP is only £4 i would consider buying it again.

Geranium and Grapefruit Body Milk

This lotion is by the brand John Masters Organics, the size of this product is only small as it’s a sample but would be great for travel or to keep in your handbag as it won’t take up too much room. I really love how this makes my hands feel, as one of the ingredients is coconut oil it really hydrates and moisturises.  After using this product my hand feel so smooth and soft but you don’t get any oil residue and the product sinks into the skin very fast. The scent of this body milk is the one thing that I wouldn’t rave about, the main ingredients are geranium and grapefruit. As I am not a big fan of citrus scents this isn’t to my taste, the grapefruit is a powerful scent but you can also smell the floral notes of the geranium. I wouldn’t purchase this again as the full size version is £18 and I don’t love the smell enough to buy it.

Coconut and Fig Hair Masque

The next thing that caught my eye was this coco & eve “like a virgin” hair mask. I have seen this product advertised so am looking forward to giving it a go. I will do a full review on this once I have given it a few tries. The first thing to say about this product is that i adore the scent, one of my all time favourite scents is coconut so i can’t go wrong with this! It’s not an overpowering type of smell but it is really lovely, and i can’t wait to find out what its like when it’s in the hair. The directions for this product are different to what i thought they would be, you shampoo your hair and towel dry it, then distribute it evenly throughout your hair. This product claims it improves shine, texture and tames frizz. As i have naturally curly hair i can’t wait to see what the results are because my hair goes very frizzy when its natural.

Liquid Shimmer Shadow Eclipse

In this months box there were two shades of this eyeshadow you could possibly get, I received Eclipse. I really love this colour, it is a coppery shade and is a shimmer eyeshadow. I have worn this eyeshadow out once for a few hours, it applied really easily and is really pigmented. This product lasted the whole time i was out, its pretty smudge proof which is great as most powdered shadows start to wear off the longer you wear it. I love how shimmery it is and the applicator makes it easy to apply and enables you to be more precise as it’s not too big.

Tapered Blending Brush

The last item in February’s BirchBox is an eyeshadow brush from the brand Luxie, I’ve heard of this brand and think they are quite popular but I myself haven’t tried their products before. I like the look of this brush and the rose gold detailing is lovely! The bristles are quite soft, although i don’t think they’re as soft as the real techniques eyeshadow brushes. I am yet to give this brush a go but as it say i think it will be really good for blending shadows together. It does feel like a good quality brush and i am going to look into the brand more if i love using this brush.

That’s all from Birchbox this month. I am quite happy with the selection of different products I received this time, but would’ve liked to see maybe another beauty product added into the mix.

I hope you enjoyed reading and let me know what you think of these products or if you’ve tried any of them out in the comments!

Thanks for reading 🙂
