March Birchbox | First Impressions

Hello lovelies,

Today I am going to be sharing my thoughts on the March Birch Box. There were lots of lovely products in this months box so read on if you would like to find out about them!

Detoxifying Clay Face Mask | Generation Clay

The first item in the box I picked out was this detoxifying clay mask, it really caught my eye. First impressions were that I loved the packaging, I think it’s really sleek and classic they grey colour also goes with the theme of the mask as its contains charcoal. I have tried this mask out once and i really enjoyed using it. I applied a thin layer onto my face a let it sit for 15 mins. I loved how this felt when applying, it is quite a thick consistency so i found that I didn’t need to use lots of product. As the mask was drying it did make my face become quite tight which i liked as it felt as though it was working and doing something. I didn’t make my face feel itchy or hot at all which is something I’ve had problems with in the past with other masks. After leaving this on for 15 mins I removed it using a flannel and some warm water. The results of using this mask for me was that my skin felt very smooth and soft and the amount of bumps on my skin had seemed to receded a little which i was happy about. It also didnt break out my skin. I defiantly think I’ll continue to use this and may buy the full size product when i have run out. The only thing that holds me back slightly is the price as it is £28.50.

“You Go Girl” Bronzer Compact | The Beauty Crop

My first thoughts when I saw this product was that the box and the packaging was gorgeous, that drew me to this item straight away. I have only tried to bronzer out once but from that i think i will definitely be using it again. The colour of this compact is a warm bronze rather than cool, I quite liked that this had more of a warm undertone because i think this will be nice to wear in the summer with a bit of a tan. The consistency of the product is lovely, it is really smooth but has a little bit of a creaminess to it so it’s not chalky at all. At first glance this looks as though it is a completely matte bronzer but it does in fact have little bits of shimmer within it which I think is lovely.

Eyebrow Cream | Chella

I was really excited to see a brow product in this months box as I’m always looking for new beauty products to try. I love this look of the packaging it quite simplistic, the design of this product is also really clever in my opinion. I think it would be good to travel with as it’s not very big and you get the brow pomade and the brush all in one. To use this product you pop the lid off if one end to reveal an angled brush and on the other end you unscrew it and the product is in the end of the little pot. I thought the colour match was great for me, it is a cool toned brown colour called “tantalising taupe”. The consistency was creamy and went onto the brows really nicely I loved using the brush as it allowed me to be really accurate. This brow cream dries down pretty well and i would say it is completely smudge proof so will stay on the brows all day long. This product is £20 so in my opinion its a little pricey but i do like the results.

Original Clear Balm | Dr.PAWPAW

The next product in March’s Birch Box is this hydrating balm. I have really enjoyed using this lip balm, it is unscented which is a little disappointing but the quality makes up for it. This is a clear balm and it was really soothing on the lips. The main ingredients in this balm are aloe vera and olive oil, so is very moisturising. This was a full-sized product and would cost £3.95 if bought individually. This balm has multiple uses can be used for lips, cuticles and skin.

Smoothing Balm | Number 4

Also in this months box was a smoothing hair balm. This product smells lovely, it is used to help with curly hair that is frizzy and or coarse. I used a small amount on damp hair and it made my hair feel a lot smoother, it also looked really shiny which doesn’t normally happen when I leave my hair natural so I was quite impressed with that.

Scent Of A Dream Perfume | Charlotte Tilbury

The last product I received in this months box was a Charlotte Tilbury perfume Sample. I was quite surprised to find this in the box as i know this is quite a high-end product, the full-sized bottle is £49. To be brutally honest i was not a big fan of this scent, i think it is a little bit mature for me so i will probably give this away to a family member. I loved the rose gold and white packaging but just wasn’t to keen on the scent. I think this would be great for an older women as that’s what this scent reminded me of, it’s just such a shame i didn’t love it.

I’ve had Birchbox before (in 2014) but I canceled it because I wasn’t getting good items. I love The Beauty Crop and the bronzer looks great! I’d like to try the eye cream as well!

  6. I would totally try that clay mask. I love face masks and lip balms. Great post! Do you recommend monthly boxes? I keep thinking about trying one but I never know which one to try and I get overwhelmed with all the choices and then I never order any.

    1. I really loved the mask! I haven’t tried any other monthly box out apart from BirchBox but I do love receiving it. I get what you mean about being overwhelmed. BirchBox had a deal on where I only paid £7 for the first month and you can cancel whenever so I tried it out and thought was worth the full price so I continued with the subscription! They might still have that deal if a similar one on their website. Xx
