December Birchbox – First Impressions

dec 2019

Hello lovelies,

How are you all doing today. I’m starting my first blog post back in a while with a first impressions. I can’t believe Christmas is already over i hope you all had a great day, this December has flown by!

I was quite impressed with this months birch box, I love that it all came in a makeup bag instead of a box this month I think its makes it a bit more special as its the christmas one. I love the style of the bag, its a lovely forget green velvet fabric and the rose gold star in the middle of the bag makes it extra christmassy, I also love the rose gold detailing on the zip.

In this months pack I received 7 items, 4 of which were full size. At first glance I think the product I am most excited about trying out is the eyeshadow palette and also the soap sponge.

Palmers Coconut Oil – Body Lotion

This was a great first item to find in this months box, I absolutely love the brand palmers so i was very excited to see one of their products. I already have the hand lotion version of this scent so I knew I would love the smell of it. This is only a sample size but you get enough to know whether you’d like to repurchase it again. I am looking forward to trying it out to see if its any different from the cocoa butter body lotion.

Daily Concepts Soap Sponge – Mother of Pearl

When I opened this months box this was the first thing I could smell, so was instantly drawn to it. I think the idea of this is different as I haven’t tried a soap sponge before. I am intrigued to know how it works and if it works well. I love the smell, so I’m hoping when its used the scent will stay with you for the rest of the day. This is another full sized product, it’s a 2 in 1 soap so can be used on the face and body.

Full size – £6.00

Forgive Me Suzie Naturally Yours – Eyeshadow Palette

The next product in the bag was this full sized eyeshadow palette, the colours look perfect for me as they are exactly what I would normally use. I love the warm tones in this palette, the glittery shades look gorgeous. I don’t often use darker browns so am excited to give this a go. I have never heard of this brand before, they are cruelty free and vegan which is great!

Full size – £9.00

BirchBox Angled Eyeshadow Brush

To go with the eyeshadow palette BirchBox have also included this lovely angled shadow brush. The bristles are really soft and full so I think this will be perfect for blending products into the crease of the eye. This is another one of the full sized products. Can you ever have too many brushes? I think not!

Full size – £4.00

Percy and Reed Reassuringly Firm – Session Hold Hairspray

The next item is this Percy and Reed hairspray, I remember back along in a previous box I revived a Percy and Reed curling creme I liked the way it made my hair look but I wasn’t too keen on the smell. Hopefully this product will have a different scent. This is travel sized so would be good to take with you if you were going away.

Full size – £12.50

Joliderm Nose Patch

The last full sized product was these nose patches. They are used for removing blackheads as well as impurities and excess sebum to also help prevent blackheads from returning. I’ve only used a nose patch once which was from Primark and unfortunately it didn’t work at all, so I’m hoping to see some results after using these patches.

Full size – £13.90

Candy Kittens – Wild Strawberry

The last item was a little mini bag of candy kittens. As I’m vegetarian its amazing when you find a brand that do sweets that taste amazing. I love the peach flavoured candy kittens so was really happy to see a different flavour to try out. I really loved the strawberry sweets and would definitely recommend them to anyone whether your veggie/vegan or not! I thought it was a lovely little extra and a great treat.

Thats all for the Decembers BirchBox, i was really happy with all of the products I received this month. Let me know in the comments which product you would most like to try!
