Hello lovelies, I hope you are all doing well. Today I am going to be talking about the January BirchBox and giving you my first impressions.
This months box is in collaboration with Rochelle Humes. To with off the design of the box is beautiful, it’s a marble design with a white/rosey quartz and gold foil running through it. There are 5 items in this months box one being full size and the other 4 are travel size or minis and each months box costs £12.95.
Mélusine Jade Roller
This was the first item I spotted in this months box, I was so excited when I opened it up and realised what it was. I have seen some much about facial rollers and to get a full sized one in this months box was great.
I’ve given this roller a go and it’s really cooling. I think it will be great for calming skin if you’ve had a stressful day it could be quite therapeutic. I love the Jade colour as it’s a bit different from the rose quartz ones I see more often.
On the information sheet it states the roller can be used for “improving elasticity and fine lines, as well as puffiness and flawless skin. It also says to keep in the fridge to use it when applying a sheet mask to get an extra smoothing feel”.
Greenfrog Botanic Body Lotion
This body lotion looks lovely, is it in the scent sweet argon and 85% of the ingredients are natural which is great. This is a vegan body lotion, it’s cruelty free and the bottle is fully recyclable!
I’ve never heard of this brand but I’m really impressed with this lotion. The scent is lovely, it definitely smells of argon but the sweetness gives it a vanilla aroma as well which I love.
This lotion is very soothing on the skin and it soaks into the skin quickly I’m really pleased with it and am tempted to purchase the full size product when it runs out.
The Beauty Crop Glow Milk Highlighter
This highlighter is so cute! It’s a little travel sized product and I’m in love with the packaging it looks like a little milk carton and has a white and rose gold cow print design.
I loved the bronzer from beauty crop I received in another months box so am looking forward to trying it out. This product in enriched coconut and argon oil which I think will give it a great texture for a highlighter I think it will help the product to blend into the skin.
I have tried this product on the back of my hand and it blended well, it is quite shimmery and there a lots of flecks of glitter when you are under a light. I think this will look great on top of the cheek bones or underneath foundation if you wanted a glowy look.
Phillip Kingsley Moisture Balancing Conditioner
As I’ve been using BirchBox for a while I’ve noticed the often put Phillip Kingsley products in their monthly boxes. I am quite excited to give this product a go as Rochelle has said she uses it and loves it. I have quite curly hair so am interested to see whether it will enhance them and make my hair look shiny rather than dry which you’ll know is a struggle if you have thick curly hair.
I like the scent of this conditioner it quite different from anything I’ve used before. It smells like a salon conditioner but it also has a little bit of a musky scent so I’m looking forward to how it will leave my hair smelling.
This product is labelled as “ultra hydrating with long-lasting moisture, it gives your hair a tangle free finish with softness and shine”.
Vasanti Brighten Up Exfoliator
The last item in this months box is this facial exfoliator on the packaging its called a enzymatic face rejuvenator. I don’t use face exfoliators very often but when I do I use it to remove makeup and get any impurities out of my skin at the same time. Some of the ingredients include papaya, micro crystals and aloe in the formula.
This sounds like a very nourishing product. As it contains the micro crystals it is said to mimic professional microdermabrasion results, I may write another blog post about my experience using this exfoliator. 99% of the ingredients are natural, the exfoliator is said to leave the skin feeling “softer, brighter and younger looking”.
This is a good travel sized product, I like how BirchBox gives you a few smaller items that you can use and try out rather than a couple full sized that you might end up not liking.
Thats all for the January Birchbox, i think this one has to be one of my favourites, let me know in the comments what product you would most like to try from this months box!
Thanks for reading 🙂
Chloe xx
