Mini Beauty Haul

Hello lovelies, today I thought I’d show you what I’ve purchased recently. I only picked up a few things but I am really enjoying using everything that I’ve bought!

First off I popped into Primark and my lovely boyfriend kindly bought me a lipstick and lip crayon that I liked the look of. The lipstick is a liquid and is from Primark’s Insta Girl range, I really love the colour of this, when its on the lips it’s slightly darker than it looks in the bottle but I’m okay with that. I do also really like the formula as its a satin finish, it’s not too sticky like some liquid lipsticks can be if they don’t dry matte. I love buying and trying out makeup from Primark because its so affordable and the product is a good quality.

I also bought a lip crayon because I’ve purchased one previously and I really liked the formula and how it looks on the lips, I went for this colour because I thought it was a wearable shade meaning I can wear it day to day. I like how matte this lip crayon is but it’s not drying like some matte lipsticks can be. I’ve tried layering this onto of my liquid lipstick and it gives a really nice ombre effect in the middle of the lips because its a slightly lighter colour and they go really well together! I would definitely recommend trying out the Primark beauty range as you can’t go wrong with the price and there are some lovely products 🙂

Top: Barry M lip liner in the shade, 5

Middle: Primark lip crayon in the shade, Mushroom

Bottom: Primark liquid lipstick in the shade, It Girl

The next shop i went to was Superdrug, i really wanted to find a bronzer that i could use as a more subtle contour as well as for bronzing because I don’t like it to be harsh looking or too dark. I went for the Bourjois bronzing powder in the shade 51 which is for lighter skin. I thought that the slight shimmer to it was a really nice touch as it will look good coming into spring and summer. The shade is lovely and it’s a really easier bronze to work with, it blends out very easily and doesn’t leave you with any harsh lines.

I also picked up a Lip Liner from Barry M i thought the shade looked lovely and i would be able to pair it with some of my lipsticks like Honeylove from Mac to give it more depth as it’s slightly darker. I like how this lipliner feels it doesn’t tug and your lips or hurt them like some eyeliners can do, but it’s not the creamiest liner in the world. I’ve also tried putting this all over my lips and then adding a lipgloss and it looks really nice. I would definitely recommend giving Barry M liners a go.

On the Barry M counter it was buy 1 get one half price and i have needed a new pencil sharpener for a long time so i decided to get one! I love the style of it because most pencil sharpeners are black so i thought the pop of pink is a really nice touch. It opens at both ends of the sharpener and their are two different sizes which is good. There is a clear case surrounding it which you open up either end to use. I thought this would be great if you were out and about or travelling because the case will help to keep the sharpener clean!

Superdrug is one of my favourite shops, I can’t go in there without buying something aha, what’s your favourite shop?

Thanks for reading, if you would like me to do a full review on any of these products let more know in the comments 🙂

Night Time Skin Care Routine

Hello lovelies, today I wanted to talk to you about my night-time skin care routine and what products I use.

To start my night time routine i use either the Body shop vitamin E cream cleanser or my Derma V10 Micellar cleansing water and some cotton pads, both of these work really well and they don’t irritate my skin at all which is great. Both of these products are really nice to use but if you are not a fan of having scented products around your eyes I would say to go for the micellar water because it’s not perfumed. I have recently purchased the Liz Earl cleanse and polish I really love how it makes my skin feel after I use it but I am not a big fan of how the product smells I am going to have a try it a few more time before I can say whether I would use it over my other cleansers.

After I’ve removed my makeup I have two different facial washes that I use, Clearasil is a really gentle face wash that leaves my skin feeling really smooth and soft and I like it because it not perfumed, it’s also very affordable and you can buy it in most drugstores and supermarkets. The Body Shop’s Vitamin E gentle facial wash is something I like to use because it makes my skin feel really clean and fresh and it has a lovely scent that’s not too powerful. I like to alternate between the two of these.

If you have read my previous posts you will know I love  The Body Shop’s Vitamin E moisture cream. I like to use this moisturiser because it is light and it doesn’t take too long to sink into my skin. I find that it makes my skin feel more rehydrated in the morning if I put it on before I go to sleep because I do tend to have quite dry skin so this moisturiser helps.

If I have had a pamper evening that night or I feel like I want to be relaxed I will put some lavender or rose balm on both of my wrists at my pulse points. I find that this helps me to go to sleep because the smells relax me and make me feel more calm. I like to use a lip balm in my night-time skin care routine especially because it’s still cold outside as it helps to keep my lips hydrated and moisturised.

What skincare products do you use in your night-time routine?

A Snow Day!

So I’m sure you’ve probably seen lots of other people talking about this random snow storm called ‘The Beast from the East”. While most the the UK had snow at the beginning of week week because i am in the south of course we had nothing, and i wasn’t expecting anything because of how normal it is for us not to have snow when everybody else in the country does!

Anyway by some miracle the wind had shifted and we actually got quite a lot of snow yesterday.  The reason why everyone makes so much fuss about snow in England is because we only get it every four years so we have to make the most of it ahah. I haven’t seen snow like this since I was 12 years old and back then it was so exciting i would go out with my friends and family and spend hours out on the hill sledging until i couldn’t feel my fingers and toes!

We decided to wait until it was properly snowing until we went out and then my mum and i took my dog for a walk which was lovely but absolutely freezing, I couldn’t take many pictures because it was snowing so i didn’t want take my big camera as it would’ve gotten wet. I did manage to take this photo on my phone though.

I’m now going to make a hot chocolate and then I think the rest of my day will consist of reading blogs, watching youtube, doing some college work and staying in the warm!

Have you had a snow day?

Hope you enjoyed reading 🙂

February Favourites

Hello lovelies, sorry I’ve not posted for a few days I haven’t been feeling too well. I really like to read these types of posts so I thought I should give it a go for myself. I’m going to be writing about pretty much anything that I’ve been liking over that particular month. Because I started my blog at the beginning of this month February will be my first monthly favourites post!

There have been a few things I’ve really been enjoying through february one of which is the Wilde Like me book I mentioned this in my Sunshine Blogger Award post because it has become one of my favourite books. I love how its such an easy light-hearted read. It’s about real life and a Mother who has a 6-year-old daughter she’s divorced is back out looking for love as well as that she is trying to build up her career as an assistant MUA and is offered a big job, I don’t want to give the whole story away but it is such a good book. I’ve got about 40 pages left, and then I will be waiting for the sequel to be released!

My next favourite of the month is the Nivea face cream. As the weather has been so cold and I have naturally quite dry skin it makes it even worse, so I use this cream on any of the dryer patches on my face and apply it before I go to bed and in the morning. I like to use this cream when my skin is dryer than normal because it’s thicker than my Body Shop Vitamin E Moisturiser, i think it’s a bit more nourishing and hydrating on my skin.

I LOVE candles! Since it’s the start of a new year I wanted to use something new that i hadn’t tried before. Because i own so many candles my mum actually put some wax melts into my stocking at christmas and i decided to save them until the new year. I’ve used this melt about 5 times and the scent is still going really well i love Yankee candle and the idea of wax melts because they are definitely a lot less money and they give off the same amount of pay off with scent in my opinion. I really love the smell of pink sands and i will definitely be repurchasing!

I haven’t been too well health wise over this past month so I haven’t been wearing much makeup because I had to go out anywhere or really been feeling like wanting to wear it. The one thing I have been using for when I do go out is my collection lasting perfection concealer, its great for covering up the dark circles under my eyes due to my lack of sleep! I feel like I look a lot more alive after I have put a bit of this concealer as it helps to put a bit of colour back into my face which is great ahah.

I’ve also been catching up on lots of tv over February, I’ve really been loving Jack Whitehall’s series Travels with my Father which is on Netflix currently, I find myself laughing pretty much the whole way through each episode. There are also new episodes of Call the Midwife each week on BBC1 which I absolutely love its one of my all time favourite shows, it’s really a cosy show and i just love everything about it even if it does make me cry every time!

I hope you enjoyed reading this post and next month hopefully I’ll be feeling better and there will be a few more things for me to show you!

Let me know in the comments what your favourites have been this month?

Sunshine Blogger Award

Hello lovelies how are you all doing?

I have been nominated by the lovely Ellie Lou! You should definitely go and check out her blog it’s fab!

The Rules

1.) Thank the blogger(s) who nominated you and link back to their blog

2.) Answer the 11 questions the blogger asked you

3.) Nominate 11 new blogs to receive this award, and write them 11 new questions

4.) List the rules and display the Sunshine Blogger Award logo in your post and/or on your blog

  1. What made you start blogging?

I had really been wanting to start a blog for a while before i made one, the thing that made me start it was that i got a boost of confidence from somewhere and i decided to take advantage of it and did what i wanted to do. I had always been really nervous about starting a blog because i wasn’t sure about how it would go down and whether people what like what i was posting or even read it! luckily i realised that this community is amazing and so supportive, I’m so glad that i started my blog.

2.   What is one brand or person you would love to collab with?

To be honest i would love to work with any makeup/ beauty brands out there it would be an amazing opportunity, some of my favourites would be Makeup Revolution or The Body Shop because there products are amazing. I would love to collab with any other beauty or lifestyle bloggers, if anybody wanted to collab with me i’d definitely be up for it!

3.   What is one thing you couldn’t live without?

The one thing that i couldn’t live without would have to be my boyfriend (cheesy i know) but he is my complete rock and stands by me and supports me through everything I’ve been through which I’m so grateful for. Also my family of course because we are all really close and i know that they would do anything to help me.

4.   What advice would you give to new bloggers?

Well i am pretty new myself i have only been blogging for about two weeks but i would say don’t be afraid to start blogging if its something you want to do. I would say that you should make sure you are blogging about something you are passionate towards because otherwise you might find yourself lost about what to write next. I think social media is really important for new bloggers because it will help you to meet fellow bloggers and there is a great community online i think especially on twitter.

5.   If you could get a lifetime supply of sweets/chocolate, what pack/bar would it be?

My favourite chocolate is going to have to be kinder, its been my all time favourite for a number of years so i would have to definitely choose them! I also love sqaushies so if i could i both i would ahah.

6.   What’s your dream holiday destination?

I would love to go on holiday to the Maldives, with clear blue water and sandy beaches i also love how quiet and serene it looks i’d love to just lie on the beach and read a book in peace. It would be my number one holiday destination and i hope i will get to go there at some point in my lifetime.

7.   What’s your favourite blog post of your own so far?

As i am quite new to blogging i don’t have many posts up yet so i don’t have much to choose from but a couple of my favourites would be my Whats in my handbag and How i store my makeup because i really like the photography that i used in both of the posts.

8.   If you could have one super power, what would it be?

I think if i could have a super power i would have to choose super strength or be able to fly its really hard to choose from. It would be amazing to be able to do both but i think be able to fly across the sky would be incredible so it would have to be that.

9.   What’s a few of your favourite books?

I am currently reading Louise Pentlands ‘Wilde Like Me’ and I’m loving it. Its a really great book and i feel like its quite real, its not too far away from reality like you get with some books of its genre. Its about a Mother who has a 6 year old daughter and is divorced she’s back out looking for love as well as that she is trying to build up her career as an assistant MUA and is offered a big job… i don’t want to give anymore away so if your interested i reading go and pick it up from a library or bookshop! I also absolutely loved The Fault In Our Stars by John Green most people have probably read this book by now and i watched the movie though before i read the book so i wasn’t able to create the characters in my head for myself. Beside that the story is incredible and it did wear me down into a blubbering mess but it was a great read and i did really enjoy it. A few of my other favourite books are Hush, Hush by Becca Fizpatrick and Girl Online by Zoe Sugg. Since I’ve been at college i haven’t had much time to read but these have been my favourites for a while.

10.   If you won the lottery, what would you spend it on?

If i was to win the lottery i would deficiently go shopping first. Then i would probably book a holiday and go somewhere hot with a sandy beach. After that i would save the rest of the money!

11.   If you could give your past self one piece of advice, what would it be?

If i could give myself any advice i would probably say not to worry so much about what others and what they might think about you. You can wear and do whatever you want, if that makes you happy then you do you. Don’t fear being judged!

My Top 5 Netflix Shows

Screen Shot 2018-02-19 at 21.37.32

Hello lovelies, I’ve really being enjoying all of these shows on Netflix currently and I wanted to share them with you, if you’re bored and are looking for a new show to check out definitely give these a go!

First on my list is Dynasty i loved this show one of the reasons being because it has two strong female leads. My boyfriend and I binge watched the whole of season one over a couple of days! we found that it was something both of us really enjoyed watching and there are new episodes out now that i can’t wait to watch! This first season was great, its a really enticing series that i would recommend to anyone who enjoys Drama and mystery.

Pretty Little Liars

I was a lot later to the PLL bandwagon but once I started I would binge watch it every nigh (i was hooked ahah). To be honest I did think it got rather confusing and quite hard to follow from the end of season 6 because there were so many different A’s popping up one after the other! But the first few seasons were amazing and I loved them, definitely worth watching  🙂

My mum recommended the series to me so I thought I’d try it out, and I thought it was great. It raises awareness of autism and what it can be like for someone who has it and their family. I found there was also a lot of comedy throughout the series which made it even better. The show focuses on Sam (the main character) with his journey of finding his first girlfriend and also follows his sister who is learning that she needs to become less protective over her brother to help him in his own life. I hope they’re making a second season!

I stubbled across this series and did know if I was going to like it because it was a historical drama, but i fell in love! I thought it was amazing  and I could really connect with the characters which made it even better for me. There are lots of strong female leads in this show which is great. It’s a really interesting series to watch as you get to learn all about what happened to Queen Mary and Queen Elizabeth and the people in their lives at this time (1557 onwards) but it was made in such a great way so it was not boring but the complete opposite!

This has been one of my all-time favourite shows for a number of years and I can watch all of the seasons over and over again (i don’t think i’ll ever get bored of it). It’s a British sitcom and I think it’s a great show to watch if you want a light-hearted watch and it’s not hard to follow it never fails to make me laugh. I like to use it as background noise sometimes whilst I’m doing work or if I just feel like watching something good that I don’t have to pay too much attention to and will still know what’s going on. I would definitely recommend giving it a watch, there are 5 seasons on Netflix and a few Christmas specials.

What are your current Netflix faves? Let me know in the comments so i can check them out!

How I Store My Makeup Getting Organised!

Hello lovelies, today I wanted to talk to you about how I store my makeup. I am definitely no pro mua but I do love makeup and trying out new looks. Because I am fairly new to the world of makeup I haven’t got a huge collection like I have seen on other blogs or YouTube videos but I do have a small collection which I hope I can grow over time. I like to be quite minimalistic with my makeup and how I store it because I don’t like to have lots of clutter.

On the left hand  side of my desk there are two little jars, these are used to store any random bits and bobs that I use regularly like my tea tree oil and tweezers. I love how these look either side of my light which I got as a birthday present last year which I also think looks really cute when it’s all lit up! The rose gold colour of the jars is what thing I love most about them, but also the way they are both shaped I think makes them look more unique and individual. I believe that they were sold to be used for tealight candles but I thought they would be perfect to sit on my desk for smaller bits and pieces that need a home!

In the middle of my desk is where my brushes live, most of which are real techniques but there are also some makeup revolution and Avon brushes hiding in there somewhere! I thought the colour and design of this pot was lovely and all of my makeup brushes fit in perfectly. I received this pot in my stocking at Christmas, as before I was keeping my brushes in their original cases, now it’s much easier to reach for them  when I am doing my makeup because they are all in one place.

Next on my desk are my acrylic drawers, I bought this from Primark and they were a really good price (around £4). I had seen some online that looked pretty much identical for double the price, so I was glad I found them! I keep some of my palettes and a few individual items in here because it helps to keep my desk tidy. By having these drawers it has made it easier for me to find things that would normally be in a makeup bag that I would have to dig through to find!  They are also quite a decent size so I am able to fit a few things into them like hair bands and grips as well as beauty products.

The last piece of storage on my desk is another acrylic tray that I also bought from Primark for around the same price. This tray has five different sections to it so it gives you a variety of different spaces to fit various items. At the back of this tray I have my eyeliner’s and mascaras, next to that I keep my concealers and eye primers as it is the deepest section of the tray and alongside this I keep my makeup sponges. To the right I keep the lipsticks that I use the most (the others are in a makeup bag) as i think this is the perfect place to store them and it looks really cute!  The last section is where my foundation, eyebrow gels and lip balm live. I really love how this tray looks when it’s all filled up, I think it makes the area look neat because it allows me to have all of my things in one place and on show.

The rest of my collection is kept one of my desk drawers, in here is the makeup that I don’t use very often so I don’t feel the need to have it out on top of my desk. I do also have a pot which i use to store my liquid lipsticks in but i haven’t got a photo of it as it’s on a different shelf in my bedroom!

What kind of storage do you use for your beauty products? Let me know in the comments!

Thanks for reading 🙂

My Favourite Perfumes

Hello lovelies, today I thought I’d talk to you about what my current favourite perfumes are. I have a few different ones that I’m loving at the moment and I use each of them for different occasions.

Giorgio Armani Sì is one of my top favourite perfumes I just love the smell of it! I also love how classic the bottle is and because it’s not too big its good for carrying around in my bag when I’m going for the day.

Top Notes: Sicilian Bergamot, Mandarin Oil, Liquer de Cassis

Heart Notes: Rose de Mai Absolute, Neroli Absolute, Egyptian Jasmine Absolute

Base Notes: Patchouli Oil, Blond Woods, Amber, Orcanox, Vanille Absolute

I would say this perfume is great if you love strong scents as it does last the whole day. Personally I think this perfume is quite floral and fruity, the vanilla and cassis is definitely a strong part of the perfume but there are also woody notes which i think helps to make the perfume more classy. For this reason i only really wear this perfume when i am going out somewhere special like a meal or a date.

The next perfume I really enjoy using is Sweet Inspirations by Zoella, I know this is a body mist but I wanted to count it as a perfume as this is what I use the most. I will normally use this perfume/mist everyday before I leave the house, I love the smell of it because it’s very sweet which I know won’t be to everbody’s taste but I really like it.

When I spray this perfume almond and vanilla are the scents that come through the strongest and they are actually two of my favourite scents! The really good thing about this mist is that it lasts for quite a while, not as long as my other perfumes but i wouldn’t expect it to. As Sweet Inspirations is a drugstore brand its a really affordable price £8. This is one of the reasons that i choose to wear it everyday because if I run out i won’t have to break my bank to restock it!

The last of my perfume favourites is Flash by Jimmy Choo, this is a scent that I use when I am going out for the evening. This is because this perfume has quite a soft spicy scent but is quite floral at the same time. Because of the spicy notes I feel like it is more of an evening perfume, I would wear this if I was going somewhere like a party or an event. This perfume is quite feminine as its light but like the Armani perfume it is very long-lasting.

Top Notes: Strawberry, Pink Pepper, Tangerine

Heart Notes: Tuberose, Jasmine, White Lily

Base Notes: Woody, Heliotrope

Whenever I have worn this perfume i have had compliments from people! I really love the style of this bottle and the way that its been shaped, because like the Armani perfume it is small I will usually be able to take in with me in my bag when I’m going out so I can spritz on the go!

What are your favourite perfumes? have you tried any of these out before? Let me know in the comment section!

Thanks for reading xx

My Everyday Beauty Products

Hello lovelies, today I wanted to talk to you about what beauty products i wear daily. As I am at college and work for most of the week I keep my makeup really simple. Depending on what my skin looks like that day I will decide whether to use a concealer or not. I will normally only wear foundation if I’m going out and because I find that my skin is in quite a good condition at the moment i choose not to wear foundation.

no 1.jpg

The first thing I do before I put my makeup on is moisturise, for this I use The Body Shop’s vitamin E moisture cream. I really like this moisturiser because it is light and it doesn’t take long to sink into my skin. I find that it makes my skin feel more rehydrated, as this cream is specifically made for people with drier skin its great for me because I do tend to have dryer skin rather than oily. I put this cream all over my face before I apply any of my makeup.

no 2.jpg

Next I comb through my eyebrows with a spoolie to get them shaped the way I want, and then I go through them with some brow gel. The reason I only use brow gel on my eyebrows is because in the feel I don’t feel like i need to fill them in. I really like this brow gel from Maybelline, it isn’t too sticky on my brows and i am able to shape them easily with the brush and they will normally stay put until the end of the day. I have gone through many of these brow gels!

no 3.jpg

The next thing I do is curl my lashes, I love this lash curler! One of my favourite colours at the moment is copper. I have quite short lashes and they are very straight so when i curl them it makes a huge difference, it makes my lashes look at lot longer as well as more curled. The mascara I am currently using is by Maybelline and its the Lash Sensational, I really like how much volume it gives my lashes and the colour is great because my lashes are fair I need a dark mascara to help define them.

no 5.jpg

Once I have done all of this I will apply some lip balm, I love to use EOS mint lip balm in the mornings because it feels very fresh and helps to wake me up!

What products do you use in your daily routine? let me know in the comments!
