Hello lovelies,
I hope you are all well. Today I wanted to talk to you about the January BirchBox and you give my first impressions.
I had been wanted to subscribe to a beauty or skin care box for a while but couldn’t decide which one to go for. After looking around for a while I came across BirchBox and thought it looked really good, there are products that are skincare and beauty related in each box so I decided to go for this one.
I think this box is really great value for money, I pay about £12.95 inc postage a month. For the quality for the products and the variety of different things you get to test and try out i definitely thinks its worth the money. Just to let you know this is not a sponsorship!
SO…
Whats in the box?
CLE Essence Moonlighter Cushion
The first item in this box was this full-sized highlighter in the shade copper rose. It has a very classic look to it and feels like a really nice quality product. When you open it up you will see that there are two layers, on the first layer there is a little applicator which feels lovely and soft and is great quality. This would be really good if you wanted to take a highlighter away with you as it comes with an applicator so you wouldn’t need to pack anything extra. The highlighter is on the second layer it is not what I expected it to be but I really love it. I have only tested it on my hand currently so may do a full review of it another time. The highlighter itself is like a sponge, you dab the applicator into the sponge and it picks up the product. On the skin this gives a really lovely glow, the pigment is good but not blinding and the sparkle is like a sheen across the skin.
Becca First Light Priming Filter
At a first glance this looked lovely, I love the pearlescent shine it has to the packaging and the product itself. I imagine this product is meant to give your skin a little bit of a glow under foundation. It is a really lovely consistency as it evens out well on the skin. From what i felt using it on the back of my hand it doesn’t complete sink into the skin which will be good for applying foundation over the top. This product is not full-sized but i was shocked to even see a Becca product in here! This again would be good for travelling as it is the perfect size.
Hair Ties
BirchBox like to add little extra things to their boxes and in this months box they added these cute hair ties. I love how bright and colourful they are and the little pom poms as well. I always seem to lose my hair ties so I am grateful to receive a couple more.
Dr Botanicals Cleansing bar
I was really happy to receive one of these because I love trying out new bars. This is the lemon superfood cleaning bar. I have tried this product out and it leaves you feeling really fresh. I can imagine this being a really great product to use in the morning and the smell of the lemons would wake you up and get you feeling re-energized. This was another full-sized item which I think is great.
Phillip Kingsley Shampoo
This shampoo states it’s for flakey or itchy scalps, I am interested to try this as my scalp does get very dry and i have not found a product yet that helps it. It was good to get this within the box as i will be able to try a small sample of it and if it works out really well I can go and buy the full-sized version but if it doesn’t work then I will know and not have spent lots of money trying it out to begin with.
AfterSpa Facial Micro Scrubber
The last item in the box is this cute facial scrubber first impressions are that I like the packaging. By the feel of this cloth I think it would be really good for exfoliating your skin, it states to use the scrubber with your favourite cleanser. It isn’t very big so you would have to work it round your face but I can’t see that being a problem. It has a cord attached to it so I’m guessing you’ll be able to hang it up to dry after using it.
That’s all of the items in the January BirchBox. For just the three full sized products if they had been brought all together would have come to £34.90!
I love not knowing whats going to turn up in the box until I open it, and its great getting to try out some many different products.
I hope you enjoyed reading, let me know in the comments what product you would like to try from this months box and if you’re subscribed to any boxes?!
Thanks for reading 🙂
