Midnight | Eye Look

Hello lovelies,

How are you all doing today, i hope you have all had a fabulous weekend.

Today I wanted to step out of my comfort zone a little bit and create a little bit of a darker smokey eye look. As you will know if you have been with me for a while i like really bright summery sort of colours for example peaches and pinks and golds, so this look is definitely a new one for me.

I am 100% not a pro or MUA but i just love makeup and really want to venture out with my makeup journey and start trying new looks. I really hope you enjoy reading and seeing the look i created.

The smokey eye is not something i have had a lot of practice with but i wanted to give it a go. I used a couple of different palettes one called “day to night” by Avon and another from makeup revolution called ” …….”.

For my base i started of with just a simple primer and white shadow to even out my skin tone and create a good base for the rest of my makeup.

To start this look off i went in with a browny sort of colour in my lid which was quite cool toned, i thought by starting off lightly it will be easier to build it up instead of going all in and then not being able to correct it as easily!

After going in with a brown i went in with a darker shade that was almost black but not quite, i applied this onto the outer corners of my eyes making sure to be very gentle. I then blended out that colour a little bit further onto the eyelid and through the crease, this really helped to bring it together and soften the look a little.

Next very lightly i went in with a  black eyeshadow from the Avon palette again, i applied this with a smaller brush to ensure i didn’t pack too much product on. I very lightly put this shade into the outer corners which darkened up the look a lot but i think it definitely added to the smokiness.

Now onto my favourite part of this look, the pop of purple! I wanted to add a but if vibrance to this smokey eye and these revolution pallets are perfect for the job. This palette was only Β£4 and for the amount of pigment these shades have i think its 100% worth the money.

I used two different glitters from the revolution pallet, the blue and the purple. I think both of these shades are gorgeous and really suit the smokey eye i saw going for. For these glitter shadows i find you get the most pigmentation out of them when they are applied using your finger.

I went in the the blue first in the outer part of my eyelid, i thought because this was a darker shade it would blend nicely out with the darker colours around the outer end of the lid. After this added the purple shade and it really just made the whole look pop, i especially love how it looks underneath on the lower lash line! I really love the vibrancy of it and how well it works alongside the blue.

To finish off this eye look i added a wing using the Seventeen liquid eyeliner and a little bit of Benefit Roller Lash mascara. I think the wing really adds to the look and makes it a little more dramatic.

I think this look would be great for a night out paired with a sparkly top and a pair of black jeans!

I would love to know your thoughts on this look, do you like a smokey eye? Let me know in the comments!

Thanks for reading πŸ™‚

  8. I used to be obsessed with the Smokey eye look but I never liked actually doing it because my glasses have a tint it ended up looking way darker than it was. Anyways I love the look! For an amateur you did great.
